Chihuahua - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - Scruffy
Description
Scruffy is a very shy young man. He was originally found on a very busy road with only his crate to live in which was placed in the woods on the side of the road. He had very little hair and looked horrible as you can see in the last picture. Not only did he have hair loss but he had a horrible skin infection and scabs on his nose, face and back end. Immediately when he came to us we took him to the vet. He had very bad Demodex mange so the vet started him on a treatment program. He now looks much better and has regrown some of his hair. Scruffy was terribly scared of people when he arrived. He now lets us pick him up and pet him but he does not come to us when we call him. He knows his name and looks up but often goes the other way He will take a very patient family to love him and finish bringing him around. He does get along good with the other dogs but I would not trust him with cats or small children. He is about 2 years old. Scruffy has been neutered, microchipped, checked for heartworms (negative) and given his shots. He is ready to find his new home with someone who understands that he needs to overcome the fear of people he has due to him living on the streets. Adoption fee of $175 required.An adoption application must be completed and a home check will be done prior to placement. All pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped prior to placement.
