Venus might be an older lady but she is quite the love bug. She is a 9 year old retired breeder that we obtained a few weeks ago. She had lived in a kennel so she didn't know about house rules. We have been working on housetraining. She is doing well and now seems to get the concept that she should go outside to potty. We have a doggie door and she goes in and out with no problem. She sleeps in a crate at night from about 9pm until about 8am and does not mess up her crate. She spends most of her day time laying on the deck taking in the sunshine. She has already been tested for heartworms and that was negative. She is now up to date on all her shots and has been microchipped. The vet did tell us that she has a heart murmur. Our vet told us that she does have some tartar on her teeth but he did not feel they were bad enough to need to be cleaned right now. Venus is really a sweet girl and I would love to find her a great home without children. I have not had her around any cats so I don't know how she would respond. She is the cobby type chihuahua with the short legs and the round body (maybe a little overweight too) and just loves to be petted and loved on.
